Horizon is the first in Mark’s collection of layered works that explores how we both collectively and individually view and record our surroundings.
Mark first layers hundreds of found images of a subject, creating the base for each new work. From the ghostly, collected results of this process, Mark finds his own personal perspective on the subject and delicately draws the viewer to this new record of the place or object.
Horizon and Huts are two works that were inspired by the beachside surroundings of Mark’s Sussex home town, Brighton.
